Oh-- not that I'll get an answer, but I keep wondering whether I should use DokuWiki or Wordpress for my world building... WP has a wiki plugin, and is much more supported in the way of layouts/templates. But DokuWiki would be a lot easier to just work with after the layout it sorted I think. And should I put this thing online? I do have webspace rotting away xD Nobody needs to look at my 'formal' portfolio site.

Apparently I have an iron deficiency that causes me to do nothing but bum around on the computer all day because I'm too apathetic to get off my ass and get a job, or put actual effort into my art (in order to get a job), or talk to my friends (I guess they still are).
6 months of iron supplements don't seem to have done much...

I look at some awesome art, and notice the kid is like 17 years old or something. Geez. At 17 I was cranking out Beyblade fanart, not doing anatomy studies or painting pretty landscapes and creatures and whatnot. I've been drawing all my life and yet there are lots of kids way better than I am. I'm not sure where I went wrong. Did I play too many games?

Art is just about all I can do, and when I'm too apathetic to pursue it with enthusiasm, it makes me feel horrible. I can't give up, but I can't progress very far, either...
I don't want to be a burden on my parents but I can't make myself change my situation. I feel something is really wrong with me. I'm sick of wasting all of this precious time.

It is SO annoying when you scribble out a thumbnail pose that you like, but then spend the rest of the night failing to get it to look right in detail. *twitch*

LOL @ MATY dumbarse who thinks I'm an EA-loving sheep just because I proved him wrong with an EA forum thread. Being steadfast in believing EA could only possibly do all things WRONG makes you as much a sheep as the 'LOL I LOVE SIMS LOL HOW DOES I MAKE BABBY' noobs.
I'm not a programmer, but I have a fair idea about how games are made and how these little things called deadlines exist. I learned that well and truly last year. EA is not sloppy because they left in a call for a debug DLL that does not crash the game if said DLL is missing. EA is sloppy if they remove that call and wind up leaving more bugs in because of it. I would expect an actual (apparent...) programmer to understand these things. Apparently not.
I wish people would think things through more often.

I don't recall MATY being quite that hostile in the early TS2 days, unfortunately some well-known people there are pathetic enough to encourage such behaviour. Only Pescado should have the right to be an obstreperous jerk ;)

Free Realms O: I wasted a whole day on this thing. Combat is extremely basic and they still need to tweak the EXP rates, but when you get sick of that you have a billion mini-games to play instead. And it's soooo pretty *n* The environments are kiddy/WoW-esque, but with real-time shadows and really good lighting and set design.
It can't really be compared to the rest of the free MMO market because of the simple combat, IMO. It's more like one of those Flash game websites, except you can run around in 3D. Not for hardcore gamers xD I reckon it'll be a real success and make SOE a bundle of money.

They just need to add a pirate class to balance out the ninjas C<

Second Life sure is getting shaken up today! Linden Labs bought out BOTH the web-based marketplaces (Xstreet & OnRez), and is rumoured to be merging the teen and main grids. Paranoid old farts everywhere are shitting bricks. They're scared all the kids will report them for any single little slip-up, swear word, accidental flirt and come on... and it'll be on their records. Forever.

I actually hadn't done PvP in an MMORPG (or really at all.. Gunbound was about the most of it) until today. Needless to say, I'm really bad at it. But then so was most of my team :D We lost 88 to 200-something *n*
So besides my beady-eyed elf swordmaster, I had a dwarf that I started this afternoon and like quite a bit more. She's an engineer so I build up my little turret and start filling faces with bullets :D I like the dwarf starting area much more than the high elf one, it just feels better... or maybe I just like being around beer-loving dwarves o.o

WAR Online has really really good art direction. I take back ever saying it looks like WoW with bigger textures. D: If I weren't so attached to Vanguard and its open-ended awesomeness (the diplomat card game is addicting), I'd be playing it right now. But as it is I'm just pining for a free trial one day *n*

So, I started playing subscription-based MMOs last July so it would make the wait for Spore less painful. Now that Spore's out, I have a Vanguard sub... do I cancel it or not?! Not just because Spore is quite entertaining and the best return of procedurally-created and random content (including randomly downloaded) in years, but because I could use all that grind time in MMOs to DRAW MOAR. Instead of grinding for ages to get that cool mount or pretty sword, I could more easily make it myself (draw it OR model it in 3D). The only thing I'd lose out on is the gameplay, and damn... singplayer RPGs are better for that. Singleplayer RPGs don't suck down so much time. Or money. xD

Logic tells me I should drop it like a hot potato, because I barely use the community side of MMOs anyway. But because I have a tiny emotional attachment to my character and my guild, it throws a spanner into the works.

And then I'd have to sadly tell Joodah that I'm gonna bail from the game so soon after joining his awesome guild full of nice people. :C

The one store I preorder Spore at is the one chain in Australia to NOT release the game before the street date. Game has it, EB has it, I hear Big W and Target have it... but nope, not JB. Lmao.

Age of Conan is great and all, but I just can't stick with it if it causes BSODs with my Phenom processor. Yes, ultimately it's not their fault it's happening, it just exposes a little flaw in my hardware... that no other game does. :/
But the active battle system was so great - it's going to make going back to LOTRO or WoW difficult.


... Damn which one do I choose? LOTRO would utilize my new system more, and the community is awesomesauce. WoW has Dranei. I love Dranei. I just wish they'd update WoW to spiffy graphics like EVE did. Dranei + normal maps + better lighting = sexy
I saw Vanguard for 30 bucks today too, and it appeals to the crazy 14 year old in me because HOLY RACE VARIETY BATMAN! And it has wolf and tiger people. That's kinda cool. Character models are kinda ugly though.

But I'm on no grounds to make this kind of decision while my 8800 is out being tested for flaws. *stuck with a piddly 6200 right now*
